Naomi Iverson, the founder and owner of newEpoc, is board certified in QEEG analysis (QEEG-T) and earned her BS in Chemical and Biological Engineering and a Minor in Computer Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She has over half a decade of experience working in neurofeedback and data analysis. After earning her engineering degree, Naomi worked as a lead neurofeedback technician at neuroAgility, PC. During this time, Naomi trained to hand-artifact EEG data under the tutelage of internationally known speaker and teacher Dr. Steven Stockdale, PhD who has extensive experience in clinical applications of qEEG technology. Shortly after, Naomi honed her knowledge and expertise training under Dr. Joel Lubar, BCIA-EEG Senior Fellow, QEEG Diplomate, and past president of ISNR and AAPB. Through Dr. Lubar's wealth of knowledge, Naomi flourished as she took on the role of EEG Data Analyst. Naomi saw the value in this work and wanted to bring her data analysis services to more clinics. Naomi founded newEpoc, LLC with the goal to provide quality service and data analysis to neurofeedback clinics around the globe. Naomi earned her QEEG-T board certification in 2023 and works with mentors Dr. Joel Lubar (PhD, BCIA-EEG Senior Fellow, QEEG-D), Dr. Cynthia Kerson (2(PhD), QEEG-D, BCN, BCB, BCB-HRV), and Shari Johansson (RDH, MA, LPC, NCC, BCN, QEEG-D) and collaborates with Maya Golan (MA, LPC) to create quality protocols and reports for neurofeedback clinics.
I am a somatic therapist who counsels individuals and couples to honor who they truly are. I’ve been active in the mental health field for over 15 years. Growing up in Israel, I was immersed in different service positions for high-risk teens and adults. I worked with addiction and homelessness, and spent many years counseling high-risk teenagers. I spent the year before my service in the Israeli army helping youth on the brink of drop-out, reengaging them with their education. I later facilitated social theater groups in diverse communities to create an outlet of expression and support. Moving to Colorado in 2015, I continued to work with high-risk populations, supporting individuals and couples to reach specific goals. I also provided trauma therapy to children and their families before opening my own private practice. Given a solid foundation to support clients from all walks of life, I’m now focusing on individuals and couples who need support to break free from anxiety, depression, PTSD, and relational struggles.
As newEpoc's consultant, Dr. Lubar provides invaluable experience and expertise in the field of neurofeedback. newEpoc meets with Dr. Lubar to discuss data and protocol designs. Dr. Lubar is responsible for a number of important advances in the field of neurofeedback such as developing the use of neurofeedback as a treatment modality for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children, adolescents, and adults. In 2004, his laboratory at the University of Tennessee was the first to develop and publish results for LORETA neurofeedback. Dr. Lubar has authored a number of books, papers, and book chapters on the topics on Neuroscience and Applied Psychophysiology. He is the past president of the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback (AAPB), EEG Division of the AAPB, Academy of Certified Neurotherapists, and International Society for Neurofeedback and Research (ISNR). Dr. Lubar has served on the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America (BCIA) Board of Directors and as a member of the executive board of AAPB. Dr. Lubar has been listed by Stanford University in the top 2 percent of world scientists in 2019 based on publications and impact of his research on the field.

What does the name newEpoc mean? Epoch often refers to 'a span of time' or 'era' and we use the term in our data analysis work to describe EEG activity collected over a discrete period of time. As for the 'new', well, we are bringing a fresh spin to processing client data at neurofeedback clinics. With the spreading awareness of neurofeedback and increase in demand, clinics are taking on more clients than they ever have before. It's a new era, or epoch, for the field. We are thrilled to be helping clinics step into this new epoch with the power of data to back them up.
