newEpoc's mission is to free up space in your day by handling your clinic's data processing needs. Therefore, we strive to make the process as easy as possible. Simply complete our client questionnaire form and send it along with your client data through our HIPAA secured method. We will perform a thorough analysis of the data and send you a report and protocol design for your client. With the protocol in hand, you can immediately start training your client. It is that easy.
The process starts with collecting qEEG data, also known as mapping, and sending it to newEpoc. Creating a robust neurofeedback training protocol for clients requires collecting clean data. Nineteen channel electrode caps are typically used to collect eyes open and eyes closed data. The most challenging aspect of data collection is reducing artifact, or noise. Eye blinks, jaw tension, movement and more can create artifact and distort the EEG signal. We provide consultation services to train neurofeedback practitioners to collect quality data. Contact us for details if you are interested in learning more.
After receiving data, newEpoc runs through rigorous data artifacting to ensure only the highest quality data is used for reports and protocol design. In addition, we look for unique wave morphologies that might provide insights into client symptoms. For instance, periodic discharge patterns occurring at fixed intervals may indicating a cerebral disease, such as toxic metabolic encephalopathy, or a brain injury if it occurs in a localized region. This pattern would be noted and included with the client's report along with recommendations to visit a neurologist and related specialists.
After artifacting, newEpoc continues to review the data in detail by analyzing various FFT map illustrations of the data as well as running the data though Thatcher's Quantitative EEG Normative Database, the industry standard for z-score analysis, to see variations from the norm. We correlate these findings to your client's symptoms and draw up a targeted protocol for them based on raw data as well as z-scored data.
According to the services that you request, newEpoc can produce reports and training protocols for surface data, sLORETA data, or swLORETA data.
A note for LORETA training: Since clients typically progress at a rapid pace with LORETA training, remapping every 5-10 sessions is suggested to ensure the protocol is up-to-date with the state of the client's brain. With this in mind, newEpoc offers discounts for subsequent map analyses and protocol designs to keep LORETA training affordable.
